The Youth Action Institute will be held June 10-16 in Washington, DC, which will bring together young AIDS activists and leaders. Since its first year in 2005, C2EA brings a diverse group of 14 to 29-year-olds to a college campus and teaches them to become the AIDS policy-makers and protest leaders of today and tomorrow. Writers' Retreat for Emerging LGBT Voices: a one-week intensive workshop immersion in fiction, nonfiction, or poetry will be held at the American Jewish University in LA, CA July 28-Aug 4. Research Assistance Wanted
Participants sought for an on-line study assessing GLBT persons’ perceptions of their primary care medical providers. The only requirements for participation in this study are that you are at least 18 years of age or older, self-identify as GLB or T, and currently have a primary care physician. Survey participants sought for a study on cybervictimization and depressive symptoms in college-aged students, and how they may be related to sexual orientation. Must be college students between the ages of 18 and 22. Access survey here.
Participants sought for a study on the psychological effects of school bullying to increase understanding of the effects of bullying, and how to better help LGBT people manage victimization. $10-$50 in gift cards will be awarded. Survey participants sought to take part in a research project, which will evaluate the impact of heterosexism and sexism in the workplace for lesbian women, and the effect of social support as a mediating factor. Interviewees sought— Hetero and same sex couples—for a dissertation research project on commitment in mixed-orientation relationships (non-heterosexual man partnered with a heterosexual woman). The couple need not be in a sexually monogamous relationship, but they should identify each other as their primary partner, and come from any state within the US.
